People ask me all the time how I can do what I do... I always tell them that I do it because It's easier to be in my shoes than theirs and I would hope someone would be strong enough to do it for me if I were in their shoes...

I'd like to introduce you to a sweet family that is dealing with a difficult situation. You see, little baby Corbin will not be with them much longer... As my heart stumbles on the things I just can not understand, I do know that God is ultimately in control and has made us strong enough to carry what this world throws at us. We may not feel strong at times, but truly we are.

I pray that even though they may never experience the sweet little slobbery kisses, or the pitter patter of tiny feet from baby Corbin, that God will always wrap his arms around them. Y'all were given Corbin, even if just for a short time, to love and cherish every second with him. You are most definitely some of the strongest people I know...

I know, I know, you do =)

I never do this, and by never I really mean never... and this may be the only time so don't let it pass you by!

I am photographing 3 days where the session fee ($125), disk with at least 30 edited images (but more than likely 80 images =)) along with the copyright release for $500.00. That alone would be a savings of $700 if I even offered that normally (which I do not). You can get your portraits printed at any place, or you can choose to print with me for 50% off of my normal print prices.
For my clients who come often or maybe just came to me and don't want to do this, I have something for you too... Up to 4 of your already photographed sessions edited on disk with copyright release for $500.00.

The dates that I am doing this is July 29, 30 and August 6. Either here at the Denham studio or any location you desire in the Denham or Baton Rouge area.
And because it is not in me to post without a cutie picture... here you go =)

Holy Cow....

My baby graduated.... I remember when I got pregnant with her. I was in the 10th grade, 16 years old and scared out of my freaking mind. How was I going to raise this sweet baby to grow up with confidence and be strong and understand that she is beautiful inside and out and that she can do anything that she sets out to do... But what I didn't realize is that all I had to do was love her and give her the space to explore and create herself. I didn't teach her, she taught me... she taught me how to love, how to laugh, and when I thought I couldn't be any prouder... she does something to make me wrong yet again. =) I am so proud of her and I am so excited to see, not what life is gonna give her, but what she is gonna give to life.

Getting a little personal today...

I like to keep my private life private, but I will share today because it is so special to me and I want everyone to enjoy. I don't have a large extended family for what ever reason, but when I was younger I got to hang out with my older brother Lenny and my cousin Travis who was 2 weeks younger than I was. We weren't allowed to play with my younger brother Chris because we always abused him and he always went in hurt so he had to watch all the fun from the screen door... =) So Travis and I grew up fighting and cursing like we were siblings... in fact, he was always a brother to me. As we got older and started families of our own of course we grew apart, but when we came together it was as if we started off where we left off without missing a beat... I guess that is where the bond is so special.
So Travis and Christy decided it was time for kids (only 12 years after marriage) =) With multiple complications in her pregnancy baby Aaron decided to make his debut at only 28 weeks, but wow what a fighter he is! He is doing remarkably well for a baby born that young.
Travis and I continue to have milestones together, he is having his first baby and my first baby is graduating high school... what a great experience for both of us.
I have posted pictures below of a portion of our hearts.... his #1 mile marker and and my #18 mile marker. I know that Baby Aaron and my Baby Savannah will be amazing people and I continue to pray for their milestones to be blessed beyond words.
The only thing I wish baby Aaron could experience is growing up with great kids to get into trouble with like we did... and oh did we ever get into trouble allllll of the time! =)
Congratulations Travis and Christy and good luck on beginning your parenting life!

Savannah's senior picnic... oh how she has grown up to be a beautiful, neurotic, lovely, amazingly sweet girl that stole my heart upon her first breath and continues to do so with every breath she takes. I love you Nannerpants... you are such a blessing to me and I couldn't imagine my life without you in it! =)

Farewell 2010....

But before I bid you good day... let's recap!

2010 is just about over... but not really, it will always be in my memories forever. The pain of a broken heart that feels it will never mend, the removal of fear, the excitement of new challenges won, the love's gained and love's lost. Friendships made beautiful, either for the first time or yet again. Conquering... well, ME! I have grown and realized that I am stronger that I ever thought I was, but I am still broken and that is ok, because where I am weak, He is strong. The passion that I have experienced this year can not be duplicated, but I will try again in 2011 for MORE. The smiles that my camera has seen this year has brought intense joy to my heart. Whether in the studio or somewhere around the world.
People have asked me what my resolution will be for 2011... I have nothing! How bout I make a promise? I resolve to be the best that I can be with no strings attached. I will always make mistakes, I will look stupid at times, and say whacky stuff, but that is me and it's the best me I can offer.
I'm thankful for everything that has happened in my life this year... good, bad, difficult and the easy.
My girls are bright shining stars in my life and I look forward to watching them grow into fabulous women oozing with confidence. I pray that they never run from a challenge and that fear never be a part of their vocabulary. I want them to take life by the horns, hang on the entire time with magical laughter. And I pray that whomever is lucky enough to steal their heart will know the precious gift that they have and treat it as the treasure that it is.

I do hope that everyone has had a great 2010, but more that that, I want 2011 to be the best one yet.
Thanks to all for yet another successful year, I couldn't have done it without all of you.

Before you watch the video, I would like to share my heart... I never would have thought that I would have such a passion for this... I do believe that I have found where my heart lies... I have always loved children, the faces they make, the things they say, the purity of heart, but this goes so much deeper! I saw smiles that went on for days, that would have lit up an entire room. I do believe that Haiti is just the beginning of my many adventures... I have so many more places to go and experience... so I sure hope you don't get sick of seeing slide shows... As I have the whole world to photograph! =)

Hearts for Haiti fundraiser...

was a great success! =) As nervous as I was about it and as sick as I was on the day that it came around it went beautifully!
But before I show you any pictures of the day I want to tell you who my very first visitor was and her story...
This cute little girl Marie {6 years old if I'm remembering correctly} (along with her sweet mom) walk into my studio first thing when we opened and placed this on my desk...

Her mom said, "We don't have an appointment and are really not here for pictures, but since the Earthquake in Haiti Marie has been collecting change to donate. I saw your ad in the paper for the fundraiser and thought we could drop it to you to give for her"
Are you kidding me with that? OMG!!! That could not have made my day anymore than it did! Jack, Brenda, Donnie and myself immediately fell in love with her and her toothless grin. She gave out of the love of her sweet little heart and didn't expect anything! I do wish that there were more "Little Marie's" in the world... could you imagine how remarkable that would be?
Well, I'm sure you know that I took her pictures and here she is. I hope you can see all the love that sparkles through her eyes and I know she will be blessed big, big for her heartfelt donation. {And I will forward this to my friends in Haiti because they will LOVE this}

And for more wonderful people who helped make this day a success... I appreciate them all!!

I'm not able to place all of the families that I took on here, but just know that they were a tremendous part in the fundraiser and I couldn't have done it without them.
The orders are still trickling in so as soon as I get a full amount I will let you know how much we raised!! YAY!

Haiti...

was the most amazing adventure I've yet to be on! Have you ever planned on going somewhere and had a perfect idea of what to expect only to be completely wrong? Yep, that is what happened to me. In my head my idea of Haiti was not at all what I experienced, I saw destruction, hardness, pain, chaos, lines on the faces of so many people that only life can cause... and yet I also saw love, determination, beauty, not just the beauty of the land, but the beauty in the people. Visiting with the children touched my heart in such a way that the memories will never be stolen from me. The language barrier was very evident, but every language understands a smile and when they smile back at you their whole entire face lights up, like they know you are there to only love on them. Hearing the laughter of a child is the most phenomenal sound on the planet.
I have been asked several times what I got out of going to Haiti... and every time it has left me speechless because there is not just one thing that I took from Haiti, it is so much more than that. It is the simple smile from the people, it is the fear that they live in, the moment to moment that they live with... as we plan our extended future, they plan their extended hour... they want what we have, but I have figured out that I want what they have... the faith to continue on in their day no matter the struggles, the strength to fight for what they need to survive. We have all come to be complacent... but is that really what we need? I feel complacency is self-satisfaction... we should be in God-satisfaction mode. I realize that they don't know that they have expanded my world, but my life has been miraculously changed... I made new friends that I never would have met here, reaquainted with old friends whom I've missed dearly and have memories that will last a lifetime, had ridiculously insane belly laughs with super people, saw the vision and heart of a phenomenal man of God {and loved it}. So in a nut shell, I took from Haiti a gazillion things more than I was able to give, I feel like I owe it a "do-over"... but I will leave that for the future... the near future! So with that... the pictures of my new love... {HEARTS FOR HAITI}

Opening my heart to you today...

For those of you who know me well know that I don't {or have not in the past} stepped out of my comfort zone for ANY reason. Well, this year has been a year for many, many scary "outings". I'm gonna start from the beginning (which is almost a year now).
My biological father passed away a year ago on November 7th, the relationship was strained at best, but I did love him and wanted him to be happy. Well, I took his death rather difficult because there was so much unsaid and undone and have really only just now been able to talk about him without a complete meltdown. I started analyzing my own life and realized that I needed to expand and stretch and stop being so scared of everything {don't get me wrong, I still have anxiety, but I push through}. I don't want to be at the end of my life and never have accepted challenges because of my own bubble that I have placed myself into. To be honest, I don't even know what I'm so scared of...
So, just a run down of my year so far... California to visit my sister {which is not a big challenge except that I HATE flying}, scuba lessons.... ouch on the bubble =), In June went to Florida keys to get certified for Scuba... overload on the OMG meter! Opened a new studio in Hammond... {which is amazing}, went to Chicago for a photography workshop {seriously... not my cup of tea, I hate talking in front of people and I had to... boo}. Out of all of these, my biggest challenge was the scuba diving... as of yet, which brings me to the next part of the story =).
There is a guy in church that teamed up with an organization that does missions in Haiti. I have always had a heart for missions and had one day planned on going on a million of them, but it has never come to pass =( So in lieu of that, I decided to do a fundraiser to help support them. This will be taking place on December 4th with packages starting at $50.00 and 100% of the profit will go to building this school in Haiti. {I will go into more detail in a couple of weeks when I meet with them}. I spoke with Jack Sunday at church, just getting permission to do this and sharing my ideas with him and he then asked me if I would be interested in going to Haiti to do pictures and teach about photography. I, of course, said yes and for him to just let me know when (thinking it would be next year sometime). He said that Ben {the pastors son} was delivering computers there in November and, if I could manage it, to go with him then... WHAT? {Yet another MASSIVE expansion}. Donnie immediately agreed and has been supportive in my going to Haiti with Ben! I can't tell you how excited and nervous I am about this trip. I know it is where I am supposed to be because every since I've agreed it's been hell in my world!
I'm not saying any of this for a pat on the back, but just to let you know that it is never too late to decide to live life to the fullest... I just wish I would have decided to do it sooner =) I am not the same person I was a year ago and I won't be the same person come November 26th and I'm soooo looking forward to it.
I will continually need prayers and support from everyone and will post pictures as often as possible. I do hope that you will make plans to come by on December 4th for some super portraits of your kiddos and to help support Hearts for Haiti...

CHICAGO!!!
I just got back from a workshop in Chicago and fell in love with the city. It is so gorgeous and the people are awesome! The cab rides {all of them} scared the mess out of me... I really did think some of that stuff was made up for movies, but OMG... not so much! =)
The workshop consisted of natural light and working in full sun, I couldn't have enjoyed it any more than I did. Audrey was phenomenal, I love her energy and her passion... but what I think I liked most about her was that she is extremely real and so easy going. She gave to me more than I could have asked for, a renewed spirit and I thank her from the bottom of my heart. Not only did I come back with a few tips, I do believe I left Chicago with a true friend.
Okay, enough of my rambling.... on to my images that were taken of the weekend. She got us the cutest models to work with on Saturday so here they are...

This past weekend was, well...

HOT!
Here in Hammond they have a Farmer's market on the second Saturday of every month along with a sidewalk sale... well, this past weekend was also a chili cook off and a car show as well. So, I grabbed my camera and off I went to photograph a bit of history... being that I know nothing about cars and how "powerful" apparently some of them were, I obviously went for the nostalgia of it all. I envisioned who could have ridden in them, where they were in their life, family, no family, wealthy or just getting by... gangster {Baby face quite possibly ;)} Yes, my imagination was running rather wild, but I loved it. My husband on the other hand was counting stuff... I guess that is why the men raise the hoods on their cars so other guys can count stuff on the engine... not sure though! Regardless of our motivation of going {History or Testosterone}, we both had a great time and were both super sweaty when we came back to the studio... the chili cook off should definitely be in December next time =)
I hope you enjoy all the dude's cars, next time you should come use your imagination yourself! =)

I do believe the next major event is Starry November Night on November 19th. There will be Santa at the Post office (one block from me), Snow, at the children's museum they will let the children write letters to Santa and at Portraits at Tiffany's, we will be decorating cookies... gonna be fun! {oh, and there will be a ton more stuff to do other than what I posted}

This Saturday {September 11} is the 2nd annual sidewalk sale in downtown Hammond. They have a farmer's market along with some sales from stores here in the historic district. I haven't actually experienced it before, but I'm looking forward to see what it has to offer. I will also be selling gift cards at 35% off so come by and pick one up for yourself or lots and get started on Christmas gifts =)

My BIG secret is...

Haha, you thought I was gonna say it immediately huh?
Well, I have decided (with much prayer) that I will be relocating the studio. I originally opened this studio here on my land to be able to stay at home with my children. My mom never got the option to stay home with us and I am so thankful to God that He provided me with a husband that is 100% supportive in all of my decisions (even if they may have caused financial burdens when we were younger with small children)! Many of you know that we now have a senior and a freshman in high school... scary, I know =) And I might add are still not grown up, but I think this is the perfect time for the change, and I do have their support, which was so very important to me. They will have to learn to cook though =) {I may have forgotten to tell them that bit of information, sssshhhh, don't tell}
The location will be a bit of a commute for me, but when I saw the place, I knew that is what I have been waiting for, a natural light 2100 sq foot building in the historic district of Hammond. I love the area and am looking forward to doing what I do best full time with a distinct line between home and work. I do hope that I have your support and want to invite you to what is called Hot August Nights in Hammond, it will be from 6-10pm on August 20th. They have so much fun stuff planned, that it will be hard to pass up. Plus I will be giving away gift cards to the first 25 people who enter my new store =) Please keep in mind that this is so new that I have nothing done, {and when I say nothing, I mean it to the most literal extent}. I will be doing a new paint job and new flooring, but the new studio will not officially be open until September, just in time for fall Portraits! Yay!

It has been one heck of a busy summer! Had a ton of clients, a fantastic vacation and so much "newness" in the future for the studio. I can only pray that everyone will be as excited as I am when I finally debut the news! ツ

So, it is quite possible that I have overlooked a session, but it is not without regret...

I have joined the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep team and hope to bless many families that are in a very need for a blessing. I pray that in what ever I am faced with that I will have courage to deal with in the same way as the families do... I know that God will use me in the way I am supposed to be used and that I will get just as much out of doing this as they will.
My prayer is that no one deals with losing a child, but if you know someone, please refer them to me and I will gladly help them to preserve the gift that God has blessed them with... even if just for a season.

and this is her kid... well, one of MANY!!! =) I love Carol and her large family! This is Zeke (Thing 5 to be exact) He was an uhoh, oh my, lovely, lovely surprise back about 20 months ago =) I remember when the way Carol told me she was with number 5.... in a stinkin' blog... can you believe it, a BLOG!!! Not even a text =) It doesn't matter, cause I knew it was only a matter of time before they added another one! Well, enough blah, blah, blah... on to the cuteness of thing 5!

I don't think you could tell he is spoiled or anything huh?

These next few are of his cake, which is fabulous and yes she made it... look at his hat that Carol ordered... Yes, it definitely says, "thing 5"... she makes me want to vomit because all of her ooooozzzzzzzing creativity! =) I guess I will still keep her as a friend though!

It was brought to my attention today...

that I should get a written release before posting any pictures online of others (to protect my business). I do, however, tell all of my clients that I do a sneak peek online of their pictures and if they do not want me to do it, I will not.
I did a little bit of research and found out that many states (including Louisiana) do not require Expressed Model Release Laws (2008), but with that said, I will be still requiring a written model release from each of my clients from now on. Not only will it protect me but it will also protect all my my faithful clients who have come to trust me over the many years and I would never want any harm to come to you because of the pictures that I place online.

So, these two are fighting, but for which girl deer cause none of them are even noticing them... boys will be boys! =) They are like, "boys are sooooo immature"

This past weekend was INSANE! But well worth it. I photographed 7 gorgeous families at the Myrtles and we couldn't have ordered better weather. I am posting just a few images from there, but they are just completely random so don't fret, all of them turned out great!

I met McKenna when she was 5 weeks old and reconnected yesterday in the studio for her 1st birthday and I gotta say, she is GORGEOUS!!!

2. The smiles start coming when they realize they will not get in trouble for playing
with their food!

3. Pure Joy... look at them duck lips... love them =) Makes me smile!

4. Lots of smiles...

5. Then sugar confusion starts to set in...

Haha... you will be glad to know that Nathan made it to his birthday party this past weekend with no traumatic memories from this session =)

NOOOO Mindy is not pregnant... she and Allen are in the process of adopting a 2 year old girl named Karis from China! Oh how my camera and I can NOT wait to get a hold of that kiddo huh?!?!?!

Changes...

could be overwhelming, but I think for this situation, they are AWESOME!! The changes that I am implementing in the studio will ultimately make the studio more efficient. Which makes me happy and you, my love's, happy as well! :o)
So, just a quick run down...

Added a new digital portrait package for those who are interested in having your images on disk to cherish FOREVER!
Added a new Sweetpea package that includes maternity as well as some images on disk! Yayness!!!
Added a maternity/newborn combo session which gives you a discount.
Added a "SPECIALS" tab so you can always know what kind of discounts I am running at any given time without searching for it.
Added a "DETAILS" tab to let you know the procedures of the studio, what you should bring for your sessions and whatever else I think you need to know. :o)
Changed proofing procedures... From now on, after you take portraits at this studio, you will then schedule an appointment (about 1.5-2 weeks after initial appointment) to come back and view and place your order in studio. However, you will still be able to view your images online in a password protected gallery, but only for 4 days. I will keep your images for 1 year then they will be discarded.

Let me know what you think about the changes...

I am liquidating my hard drive to make room for more...
for those of you who have had portraits taken since I have started taking pictures through 2008... you have an super opportunity to take advantage of... to purchase your images on disk for $250.00, (you must have placed an order previously) with release to do with what you want. Regardless of whether you take advantage of this or not, they will be discarded so if you even think you might want them, please let me know and I will extend the deadline for you!

I hope I am not seriously giving you a headache, but I think this will work out better for all parties involved! :o)

The New Year...

has arrived and I know someone who will be having some sleepless nights soon, if not already! :o) ENJOY!!!!

I hope that she is doing well with her bundle of joy if it has arrived yet!
On to business... I have decided to add a spring family day this year. Everyone loves the fall day so much and I know that this will be great as well! Easter is April 4, 2010 so I've decided to do the spring day on Saturday, March 6th, 2010. The session fee is $75.00 due when you schedule your time and is non refundable. I will be scheduling appointments from 9am-3pm, one appointment per hour. If you would like more information and to find out where it will be located, please email me at tiffany_myers@bellsouth.net. Bring it on...

Christmas that is! :o) Okay, as crazy busy as these past few months have been I have managed to get all of... and I repeat ALL of my shopping done... (oh and my father in law's also... for my kiddos at least). Now our Christmas cards... wellllll.... not so much! :o( But don't fret, I'm sending out New Year's cards... Don't be hatin' cause you know they will be sweeeeet! Come to think of it, I don't know that I have ever actually sent out Christmas cards... I've helped others send out cards, but not me... Oh well, there is always next year to try! :o)
So, I'm not blogging to tell you how ridiculously cool I am because of these cards, just giving you my holiday schedule. There are several people here who have orders in and I beg you to please release me from them... :o) I will be so hard to get with from December 18th until January 2nd so please contact me before then to pick up your items. I will still be placing orders, but will need those in the form of an email, tiffany_myers@bellsouth.net, and will call you to pick them up. I am taking a couple of weeks off to spend time with my kiddos and catch up on laundry... :o) I will start scheduling appointments for January 2nd.

This year has been trying at best, but I wouldn't change a thing... because I have learned something from every hardship this year. I have learned:

To smile through the difficult times because there is always someone looking at you who may need see Jesus.
Don't ever forget to tell someone how special they are... you may not get to tell them one day.
No matter what your brain tells your heart to feel, your heart ALWAYS wins!
That I have wonderful clients that have ultimately turned into friends... Thanks!

I hope, from the bottom of my heart, that you have the most fabulous Christmas and New Year's and remember to love your family with everything that is in you... even the crazy one's that may not deserve it need it the most!

What I've been up to?!?!?!? Here are some images from a few of my sessions this past couple of weeks! {If your child is not on here, don't fret, I just edited them on my other computer :o)} These first two are my little buddies, Nathan and Dylan... LOVE MY BOYS!!

These next few are some of the MANY, MANY, MANY pictures I took at Smooch My Pooch this past weekend... this first image reminds me of Where the Red Furn grows... :o) Sweet looking little kiddo and his dog! He totally made me smile from the moment he came in the room!

This little guy was NOT in a great mood, but managed to squeeze a couple of sweet smiles out of him.
Little Raegan.... was a doll!

Celebrating this 1st birthday was a blast... not quite finished with her editing, so there will be more fun to come :o)
I take these boys pictures every year at Christmas and they continue to get more fun every year!
And... the whole Live Oak Middle Colorguard team... Always have fun with them!

It has been forever since I have posted... sorry! Good news, Portraits at Tiffany's is now offering super cute gift cards for any occasion gifts! You know you are excited, don't even try to pretend you are not....I love me some gift cards! :o) I wish I had some pictures of them to post, but I'm too fullllll to get up off of my couch (it is Thanksgiving day you know) to take pictures of the gift cards! So you will just have to take my word for it! :o) But I will give you some pictures of cuter stuff...kiddos!!!! Hehe!

Today is the day...

that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

Well, today is my father's memorial service. For those of you who don't know or those of you who can't seem to catch me, he passed away unexpectedly this past Saturday at 1:30 am. Of course you know that my family day in Rosedown was also Saturday... I did continue with my day and took my 8 families portraits so I would like to apologize to them for the way I must have appeared to them as they had no idea what happened just 6 short hours prior to starting my day. I am extremely behind as I haven't even looked at hardly any of the images I took and today is Tuesday... I beg of you to find patience with me, I promise to have them up ASAP! I rescheduled my appointments for the remainder of this week to focus on editing them. I would like to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers!

Also, if I have not gotten back to you regarding pictures or appointments, please shoot me an email and remind me because these last couple of days are a complete blur. Thank you all for your understanding

Strictly business....

Okay, I am adding Sunday afternoon to my holiday schedule... obviously there are only so many Saturday's right?!?!? But that is also true for Sunday's... I am already filling up my Sunday afternoons, so if you were wanting a weekend session, please call now. I do have my Christmas up and ready for Studio portraits... I have a traditional tree and a "different" tree!
Next... I will be in New Orleans all day tomorrow, my family day is Saturday (two days away)... I have 8 families that day and a family of 19 on Sunday and a 1 year old session on Sunday as well... so why am I telling you this?!?!? Because if you have pictures that you are still proofing... NOW would be the time to get your order in otherwise you will be waiting! I normally don't rush people, but I don't like making people wait for their beautiful pictures either! :o)
Last... Mistletoe Market is next weekend (November 14th 9am-6pm) I will have sooo many specials and FREE stuff... who doesn't love free stuff?!?!? I will have a Christmas tree out with "envelopes" on them for you to choose one and inside of each of one is a coupon for % off session fee's, some have free portraits 8x10, 11x14's... there is even one with a free location session and a free 11x14 portrait! So exciting!
Okay, I believe that is it... but I will post a recent cutie pie! I know I said this blog was strictly business, but I can't help it = -)

I've realized two things...

That tutu's are VERY popular for 1st birthday's... well, just about any time! :o) And that the studio needs more of them.... SOOOO I've decided to think outside of the box...
This is my proposition:
Many of you only purchase the tutu's for pictures, so what I am proposing is that after you take your pictures you turn your tutu into Portraits at Tiffany's to keep and in return you will receive 50% off of either an 11x14 or 16x20 portrait. BUT, if you can produce the receipt along with the tutu and it shows that you paid just as much for it as the 11x14, you will receive the 11x14 for free and still have the opportunity to get the 16x20 portrait for half off... (must purchase minimum order)
It is a win/win/win situation, you get pictures with a cute tutu, discounted or free portrait and the studio get's a tutu to use for future clients who do not have one. :o) How can anyone go wrong with this deal? Of course this will only be around until the studio has all of the necessary colors, so don't wait!

have been chosen... Yay!!! Although, I still need to finalize the baby, but have some great leads, thanks for everyone's help! I am looking forward to photographing all the cute kids (and young ladies) in great tutu's designed by Babycakes Boutique in Denham Springs Antique section. You should go check them out.

This session will focus on Fall/Halloween and Christmas and also throw some "Twilight" inspired costumes in there as well!

To all the mom's that will be bringing their little one's please take note that no camera's will be allowed as it causes serious distraction to the children and they will more than likely look at you instead of me. I can't get good pictures if that happens :o) Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

I seriously fall in LOVE with each of my clients every time I take their pictures... there is something about seeing the glimmer in their eyes and the smile on their faces (and their parents faces). I can watch their parents expression and see that particular child grow in the 1.5 hours that I am photographing them. I have seen so many tears and soooo much love every time I photograph a senior or even a child that it makes my heart smile! Love them all!!!

My hope for you is that you fall in love as well!!!

I took Whitney's maternity pictures when she was pregnant with her first kiddo {3 years ago}, so she called me months ago when she wanted more (of her second pregnancy of course). So I must share... some of you may recognize her from her first session... ENJOY!

Cooper... I have always thought that God chooses your parents, good or bad, He knows what He is doing. And I couldn't believe it any more than I do right now. {I have Tanya's permission to tell you a bit about her and Travis's story, if I get some wrong, please correct me :)} So, from what I understand, they had been trying for quite some time to have a baby, with no luck :o( They decided to plan for adoption and within just a short time (weeks I believe) they received notice of a baby in Florida that was due NOW! So, they rushed to Florida with great support from their employers and met the birth parents, and came home with a brand new baby boy... of course their is more to it than that, but I don't want to jack up any of the information. So just know that within a couple of weeks of filling out the paperwork, God blessed them with baby Cooper! Because it happened soooo quickly (which is unheard of) I know God had a hand in this wonderfully beautiful transaction! So, onto what you are here for... Pictures of Baby Cooper!!!

So last night I was catching up on my Rangefinder reading (photo magazine) and realized that in 8 years my photography has evolved so much. But that I have soooo many people to thank and recognize for helping me{even if you didn't realize it}!

My mentor, with whom I worked with for my first 2-3 years, Rip Rittell {photographer in Zachary}. He is an awesome photographer and just a good, good guy! When I left to open my own studio {5 years now} he was so supportive and came over to "check it out", gave me a few ideas and I ran with it! Even though I have my own "style", I still see a bit of him in my work.

When I was "on my own", I sought after information on the internet and found some lovely photographers that were eager to help if I had questions or I just looked at their images and taught myself the lighting that I love now!

My cousin Courtney {A fantastic wedding photographer if you ever need one} was a beautiful inspiration for me with her "art". I see how much she has grown and how much she has to offer with her work. I love her and hope she continues to do well. Thanks Courtney, you have helped me in many ways that you may never know! :o)

Last, but not least, my husband is a great teacher. He reads the manuals and hooks me up with the details! He is a great supporter of everything that I want to do. Couldn't do it without him. Thanks Don, I love ya dude!

Not only could I have not done this without the support from my family and friends, I could not have done it without my super customers. Thanks to you all!

So, now that I have opened my heart {tonight must be a blue moon}, please understand it wasn't to pat myself on the back, but to thank the one's that have helped me so much in my journey to succeed. My goal is to continue to grow and hope you are with me to watch it happen!

I have been taking these girls' pictures since I opened the studio {going on 5 years} and watching them grow has been quite a blessing. The are such sweeties and their mom is pretty okay too!

The first one is going into middle school this year so these are her "beginning middle school/birthday" pictures.... she is growing up!

This next little one is something else... has EVERYONE wrapped! {These were her birthday pictures as well} I think by the time they left she was due a couple of tiny barbie dolls, icecream or icee, hot dog, french fries and something else, but it has left my brain... I have heartburn just thinking about all of this! Hehe, but we got some good one's so it was worth it!

This last one was not due for pictures, but I had to snap just one of her cause she is a doll...
Hope Mom enjoys these, I know I did.

For Kim... Baby William is finally here! He had just turned a week old when he came to visit me and he really just wanted to sleep which was perfect for me. So I rolled him in a ball and snapped away!! :) He was definitely sucking on his toes on this first one... some people would consider this gross, but I just think it is PERFECT!!!

Big brother Jacob... sweet little 4 year old. I will have more of him on another blog after I finish editing.
He reminds me of a little cat with his toes all s p r e a d out!!! So funny!

on family day this year. For those who are not familiar with what I am talking about, every year before Christmas I schedule several shoots at one location for a discounted fee. It allows you to get a money break and allows me to serve many of you easier in this busy, busy time of year. I have not decided on a date, I am up in the air for either November 7th or 21st so suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The location fee this year will be $65.00 (savings of $50.00, including extra mileage). You will pay when you schedule your appointment. The appointments will last approximately 1 hour starting at 9 am. Please call the studio or email me (tiffany_myers@bellsouth.net) to find out where I am going and to get more information. I do know that the fee to get in is a bit more than in previous years, but it will be well worth it. Fee's are $10.00 for adults, $4.00 for students 6-17 and 5 and under is free. You will pay that to the place on the day of your appointment.

The appointments are on a first come first serve basis and have filled up VERY quickly for the past 2 years that I have done this so please call ASAP!!

Okay, I'm am just getting back from a much needed and much appreciated vacation and of course took pictures of my girls and their friends... Enjoy!

I had so many people email me about their little one being a "model" for me and just could not pick them all, I am sorry, but there will be more opportunities and I will keep your information on file. As far as the 1 year old cake pictures, I have not heard back from the cake company with their decision to even do pictures so as soon as I hear back, you will be the first to know :) Here is the list:

On to other news, summer time is officially here which means my hours will be significantly cut because of my children being home for 2.5 months. So if you know you want pictures this summer, please contact me ASAP as I do not ever want anyone to have to wait on an opening, I want you to be able to get your appointment when you want your appointment. As of right now, I will be out of town on June 6th and June 10th through the 15th with very limited contact. I have a couple of available times open for June 20th and 27th so if you want a Saturday appointment, I would not hesitate to call for either of those days.

I will be displaying my work in a couple of shops here in Denham and need some little models to work with. {Please note that they need to be comfortable around "strangers" and in front of the camera and we may ask you to "hide" if he/she will not cooperate with you in sight} The session fee will be free and you can purchase anything you want and you do not have to fulfill the normal minimum order.

The first store is Baby Cakes Boutique on Range Ave. They sell really cute tutu's and dolls so this is geared more toward little girls. So I will need a few girls to model these tutu's for me on June 9th at a location that I will inform you of at a later date. The ages I will need is 18months through around 7.

If you are interested in dolling your little one up for an hour or so you will need to do this:

* A picture of your little girl (as current as possible) {preferably your own, not professional}

* Your name

* Phone number

* Email address

* Your child's name and age

* And if you are available on the 9th of June

Before I choose your child, you will need to come in the studio for a 5-10 minute session just to see how she reacts in front of the camera and with me. You do not need to put her in anything special, I want her to be as comfortable as possible.

I know this may seem like a lot, but I want to make the best possible portraits for you and me. :)

The second store is Fairy Dust Cakes in Watson. I will be needing a couple of kids {boys and girls} around 1, they can be a bit over, but they need to still look as close to 1 yr. as possible. The instructions for this is the same as above, but I will not need them to come in the studio for the mini session. These pictures will be taken in my studio located in Watson {I have not come up with at date yet, but hopefully soon.}

I am very much looking forward to doing this and if any of you own a shop of your own, or know someone who does, let me know if you are interested in doing this for your business.

An Extreme Sneak Peek for...

Chad and Jennifer... I took Claire's 1 year pictures today and went a tad overboard on the sneak peek, but who can blame me... Look how cute. I have been taking Claire's pictures for a year now { I can't believe it has been a year} and have watched her grow... with all the oogling her parents give her, it was inevitable that she become a happy little toddler :o) Her parents are the best and I love visiting with them when they come for portraits of their little angel/monster {only sometimes is she the latter}. FYI...I love both sides!

I think this one below is one of my favorites so far...

She sucked down the icing on her cake... that is a first for me, usually they get tired of it way before they get to the actual cake part, but not her!

My computer is fixed... YAYNESS!!! And I did not lose anything... DOUBLE YAYNESS!!! So, other than a little delay on client proofing, the day is saved :0) I will be working a ton this weekend to get caught up so please be patient. I will also be going to the Apple Store to get a new computer so when this does happen again I will, at least, have another computer to work on while this one is getting fixed. Bad news...

My computer is not good... actually it is really bad :0( So I know I am going to disappoint some people with my potential loss of images and for sure turn around time, but I could not control any of this computer failure. Please understand and be forgiving! I am more upset than any of you could possibly be... Promise!!! I will keep you updated and hopefully have this fixed by tomorrow thanks to the WONDERFULNESS of Pastor Terry and his awesome son Ben! Yay to them because they have saved me twice already... They are definitely on my Christmas card list :0)
